Installation Guide:

The installation of this Body Mount Chop requires good mechanical knowledge and tools. It is important to follow these instructions. If you are wanting this kit modplated in QLD, please get in contact with Munji prior to commencing work.

N.B: Be very careful when working underneath your vehicle, ensure you are correctly using jack stands or the hoist locks if working on a hoist. Ensure the Ignition is switched off for at least 30 seconds before disconnecting any wiring connections, and disconnect the battery before any welding.

TOOLS REQUIRED:

  • Socket Set
  • Spanners
  • Drill + Drill bit set
  • Grinder
  • Welder
  • Jack
  • Die Grinder

STEPS:

  1. Begin by removing the front and second row body mount bolts. The front bolts can be loosened off and left in place, but the second row bolts need to be removed. The driver side second row bolt will come out from inside the cab, under the carpet underneath the accelerator pedal. Remove the Sill panel trim and the adjacent A pillar trim, then lift up the vinyl/carpet and locate and remove the rubber plug covering the body mount bolt.
  2. Once the front body mounts are loosed and the second row body mount bolts are removed, you can loosen off the 2x 14mm bolts holding the second row body mounts in and remove these mounts. You will need to carefully jack the front of the vehicle up to get enough room to remove the mounts. We recommend placing the body mounts in the location shown below and removing the jack, so it is safe to work under the cab, and so you have room to fit this body mount clearance kit.
  3. Now with the body mount out of the way, you can place the timber template over the body mount with the flat side facing the front of the vehicle as shown. Mark with a paint pen the areas shown below, including a dot for the new hole for the body mount, and cut these parts off. When drilling the hole, it has to be done on an angle due to the cab being above you. Start with a small diameter drill bit to ensure the hole is lined up. Alternatively, a die grinder works well to put a pilot divot where the hole needs to go. Since this is a clearance hole, if it doesn't line up you can use a die grinder to open it up more. It isn't critical if it ends up larger then it needs to be, since the body mount bolt threads into the billet insert below.
  4. Now you can fit your billet insert, using the supplied bolt to hold it in place. (3D printed part shown in photos) If it doesn't sit flush, observe where it hits sand grind small amounts off the chassis. Once it fits well, you can fit the front section to it, and tack in place.
  5. Test fit the body mount and if it all fits, weld in the insert. Once welded, grind welds smooth, paint and cavity wax internal areas.
  6. Repeat on the other side and your done!
