Why is there no EGR Delete Module available for my car? Posted on 12 Jun 21:07 , 1 comment
The Crisp Mods EGR Delete Modules alter the ambient air temperature at the airbox, within the MAF sensor. The ambient air temperature, at the MAF sensor, is for EGR system operation ONLY (for the vehicles where EGR Delete Modules are currently available). The temperature is set below the natural shut down temperature for EGR system, this ensures that the ECU does not command the EGR system to operate (i.e. it lays dormant).
Prior to the release of a Module, extensive testing is undertaken on various models of the engine to ensure there no detrimental effect are caused. The Module is safe because it still needs a “complete system” to operate, therefore the ECU still needs to read / detect all systems are “ok”. This means the EGR Delete Modules will not override any code or limp mode set by a fault in the system, meaning any potentially dangerous fault codes won’t be hidden.
Unfortunately, the following models of cars cannot have their EGR system “electronically” deleted:-

How can I delete my EGR system? |
RA Rodeo – 4JH1 engine |
The EGR system in this engine is vacuum actuated.
As the system is controlled by vacuum, there is no electronic component to override the EGR System. |
Block the vacuum line to actuator with a ball bearing.
As the ball bearing cannot be seen in side the pipe, it is hard to detect.
N.B. Before fitting a ball bearing into your EGR System, speak with others who have done it before you to ensure that you do not send a ball bearing through your engine. |
RG Colorado 2.8L |
The ambient air temperature sensor, within the MAF sensor, is also used by the charging system to determine voltage regulation.
Therefore, any change in the ambient air temperature will affect charging and will likely cause damage to the alternator and battery.
This puts the vehicle at high risk of overcharging the batteries, which may result in a battery exploding.
Because there is a risk, Crisp Mods and Munji will not distribute EGR Delete Modules for this model car. |
Unfortunately, the only way to block the EGR System is with a EGR Blanking Plate and a Remap to remove engine codes set by the blanking plate (this is not a true delete, but the best available).
Crisp Mods offers these remaps and blanks for RG Colorados. You can contact Crisp Mods on Facebook. |
Late Model Mazda BT-50 and Ford Ranger 3.2L |
A true EGR Delete with a Module cannot be achieved safely on this vehicle. |
Unfortunately, the only way to block the EGR System is with a EGR Blanking Plate and a Remap to remove engine codes set by the blanking plate (this is not a true delete, but the best available).
You can contact Crisp Mods on Facebook in relation to providing a Remap for your vehicle. |
Toyota (all vehicles as far as we are aware) | A true EGR Delete with a Module has not yet been accomplished. | You can contact Crisp Mods on Facebook in relation to providing a Remap for your vehicle. |
If you are aware of any other model engines that cannot have their EGR System “electronically” deleted, please contact us and let us know so we can add the models to our list to help out the 4x4 community.
