What is this?
Munji custom designed 6mm thick Reinforced Silicone intercooler pipes, being a direct replacement for the factory rubber hoses.
What are the benefits?
The original rubber intercooler pipes expand under boost, which can cause lag and also fatigue over time which can rupture. Using silicone piping allows for maximum engine movement, reducing vibration, noise and harmonics from travelling into the cab This is an important design feature knowing these engine do float around on the mounts more than most. Silicone is also a far better heat insulator then Aluminium and will not transfer the engine bay heat into the charged air like aluminium hard pipes.
The hard pipe upgrade:-
- Aesthetically pleasing;
- Is stronger, will not expand under boost or fatigue
- Insulates cooled charged air from engine bay heat
- Will not transfer vibrations or noise into cab
- Is made from Oil Safe Fluorosilicone, which will not break down upon contact with oil.
All these benefits suit a standard to a highly modified vehicle, with standard front mount intercooler.
Installation
Tools required - Small socket set and cleaning rag.
Installation Time - Approximately 20 minutes.
