Installation Guide:

The installation of these CV Boot Deflection Guards requires minimal mechanical knowledge and tools. It is important to follow these instructions, as there are important steps which need to be taken.

TOOLS REQUIRED:

  • 17mm Spanner
  • 17mm Socket

 STEPS:

  1. Park the vehicle on flat ground, preferably clean concrete as you have to work under the vehicle. Ensure handbrake is up and wheels are chocked, if neccessary. Using the 17mm socket and spanner, remove the shock bolt from the lower eye, where it mounts into the lower control arm, as shown below. (17mm Spanner and 17mm Socket is needed.)
    1. Slip the CV Shield behind the sway bar link, in front of the CV boot. Hook the little locking tab under the sway bar link lower mount on the lower control arm and line up the bolt hole on the shield with the back face of the shock mount. Slip the factory shock bolt back through from behind. This process is shown below.
      1. Retighten the shock bolt and check the clearance around all components via steering lock to lock and flexing vehicle up and down to ensure the shield is not rubbing on anything. Minor adjustments can be easily made with a small shifting spanner for added leverage.  (17mm Spanner, 17mm Socket and Shifting Spanner is needed.)
      2. Repeat steps 1-3 for other side and your done!
